This is a beautiful, hand-carved natural Lapis Lazul Crystal Double Vajra Dorje or Viswa Vajra which I hand carried back with me from my last trip to Nepal. Very high quality Afghanistan Lapis was used in its creation. There are lots of silvery gold specks. The great craftsmanship of the Nepali carver is exhibited with this work of art.
In Nepal, Vajras are kept around the house to bring good luck to the household and ward of evil.
When two thunderbolts are crossed it is called a Viswa Vajra. It is the emblem of Amoghasiddi. In Buddhist Tantra the word generally designates Sunya or Void which cannot be cut, cannot be destroyed but which destroys all evil.”
Some characteristics and metaphysical properties of Lapis Lazuli:
Lapis, although technically a rock, is often referred to as a gemstone because of its rarity and mystical blue and gold color. It is primarily found in only two places in the world, Afghanistan and Chile. The Afghanistan Lapis is prized as the more beautiful. It is made of mostly lazurite and pyrite. Pyrite giving the stone its golden specks of color.
Lapis is valued for its beauty, rarity, and positive metaphysical properties.
Considered an Aphrodisiac by the Romans and a magical stone by the Egyptians, these cultures used the rock for making carvings and jewelry.
Lapis might be regarded as the stone of friendship and truth. It can help with awareness, creativity and communication so is excellent for people who want to improve their communication or whose jobs require a lot of verbal interaction. It can be useful in overcoming insomnia, depression and aid as a protective stone.
As you can see from the pictures it comes with a strong decorative box for display and protection during transport.
